CROSSING KEEPER’S DEATH

UNKNOWN MOTORIST'S ACTION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A verdict that death was due to his being accidentally run over by an electric railway train while engaged in his duties as railway crossing keeper at Waltham Road, was returned by tho coroner, Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., at the inquest to-day into the death of Arthur William Bright. Evidence was given that a motor-cyclist, who was still unknown, was approaching the crossing against Bright’s signal. Bright went on to the track to stop him and was struck by an oncoming train. The motor-cyclist got over the line safely.
