AMAZING RECOVERY. BERTH DOCTORS BAFFLED A remarkable case of a young man surviving two bullet wounds in the brain, and being now on the road to recovery, is puzzling the doctors at the hospital at Perth, Western Australia. On March 28, Robert Whitehead, aged 18, shot himself twice in the head with a revolver, one bullet lodging in -his brain and the other penetrating it, having travelled from the roof of his mouth through" the skull and emerging at the top of his head. No hope was held out for his recovery, but he lingered in a semi-conscious condition for more than a fortnight, during which time he developed paralysis down one side of his body. Subsequently he made a remarkable recovery, and is now stated to be out of danger.
