Mr. C. E. Cann, member of a- London firm who many years ago were coachbuilders, told the motor body-builders’ conference in Wellington that the old art of coach-building was dying out, and that the large and exclusive bodybuilding in London was in the hands of half a dozen firms. A Wellington delegate: “When you see the class of work done now in comparison with the old coach trade it nearly makes you cry sometimes. I suppose we have to advance with the times, but the main object is money-making, and art is dropped in the pursuit of profit.”
