HOUSE RAPIDLY DESTROYED
NO WATER TO FIGHT FLAMES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland. Last Night. Fire destroyed an eight-roomed house and contents in Penrose Road, Penrose, owned and occupied by G. H. Mann, in half an hour to-day. Only a few pictures hurriedly removed from the walls were saved. There was a strong wind blowing and the flames spread rapidly. There is no water supply system in the district.
The house was insured with the State Fire Company for £1350 and with the Queensland Insurance Company for £5OO. The furniture was insured with the Queensland Company for £lOOO.
