NEW PLYMOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP.

B. WHEELER WINS THE CUP.

Ideal shooting weather prevailed for the New Plymouth Gun Club’s championship shoot. Among the eighteen shooters who faced the trap, were a number from the Hawera and Eltham clubs. The championship was fired under the New Zealand Gun Club's rules --21 birds from: the 18 yards mark. The winner of the handsome silver cup presented by Mr. J. Bennie was B. Wheeler, who also takes Mr. H. Round’s special trophy for the best first barrel, performance. Mr. Bruce Joll,. Hawera and Eltham Gun Clubs, presented Mr. Wheeler with the cup and congratulated him on his splendid performance. Kempton, Wanganui ,at the Wanganui Gun Club s meeting on Saturday. Kempton, J. Donald (Palmerston North) and A. Myers (Kimbolton) secured 20 breaks of 21 birds off 18 yards in the first shoot. The shoot off resulted: C. Kempton 24 points, Donald 23, Myers 22.
