The India Episcopal Synod, meeting at Calcutta, adopted a new constitution, canons and rules for the church and adopted a resolution requesting the Government to appoint March 1 as the date for the legal severance of the Church of India, Burma and Ceylon from the Church of England; The Synod further decided to permit th© churches to use the revised prayerbook, except the controversial parts of the communion cervice.
