REPRESENTATIVE SWIMMERS. KEENLY-CONTESTED RACES. There was a large number of swim* tners representing nearly all the Taranaki clubs at the Waitara Amateur Swimming Club's carnival at the Waitara baths last night. Competition .was very keen, and some very close finishes were seen, especially in the two heats of the men’s 100 yards, which were contested by the sprint swimmers who will most probably enter for the Taranaki championship.
