For the second day of the Pahiatua Racing Club’s meeting the weather was showery and the going rather heavy. There was a good attendance. TARANAKI J.C. MEETING. ACCEPTANCES CLOSE TO NIGHT. The committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club is making arrangements to ensure the success of its autumn meeting, which opens on Thursday next and concludes on Saturday. The track is in excellent racing order. Arrangements are being made to cater for the needs of visiting trainers and their charges, of which it is expected there will be a larger number than usual at this meeting. With the starting and judging in expert hands owners and trainers need have no hesitation in accepting, particularly as splendid stake money is attached. to each event. Secretary C. B.
