STATEMENT 851 MR. A. E. DAVY. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Wellington, January.. 29. In a statement to the Press to-day Mr. A. E. Davy draws attention to the remark of Mr. Perry on the occasion of the welcome to Sir Joseph Ward as leader of the United Party: “Our object, has been to gather together the anti-S.oeial-ist forces of the country.” At the same meeting Mr: G. W. Forbes said: "This organisation is trying to bring about unity among the progressive anti-Socialist, forces of the Dominon.” Mr. Dcvy says that apparently accession to Cabinet rank lias necessitated an abrupt volte face on the part of Mr. Forbes and some of his Cabinet colleagues. “To settle for all time whether the organisation has attempted to dominate the Cabinet, or whether ■ the Cabinet, under , the domination of Sir - Joseph Ward, has violated the principles and platform of the United organisation, I shall publish the policy drawn up by candidates and sponsored by the organisation at the pre-election conference, and Sir Joseph Ward’s policy, expounded by him: without even consulting the candidates, despite the fact that he accepted their policysaid Mr. Davy.-
