DEATH OF MR. JAMES TARRY
COACHING DAYS RECAIXED. 4 Tho death occurred at a private hospital, New Plymouth on Friday morning of Yr, James Tarry, an old resident of the Inglewood district. Mr. Tarry in tho early days ran a each service between Inglewood and New Plymouth, a strenuous journey with tho roads metalled only in places. Later Mr. Tarry undertook road-con-tracting about the district, he having purchased a crushing plant and traction engine. He also put through largo contracts in. the Te Kuiti, Wait-omo and Thames .Valley, .districts. His wife died a few years ago.- Mr. Tarry leaves two daughters —Mrs. Martin, who lives on the old homestead "Holly Vale,” Ngatara, and Miss Tarry, who for many yeans has been a teacher under tho Taranaki Education Board and who a few days ago left tho Dominion. for., an extended tour of the British Isles and'Europe.
