Seventy-five thousand spectators saw the favourite, Duke of Normanby, win the Vincennes .Christmas Handicap at the beginning of the metropolitan‘ trottjng . race season, Duke of Normanby was favourite at 2 to 1 in a field of seven for a purse of £6OO, and won in hollow fashion. The distance was one mile and three-quarters. Didon was second and Doeiman third. '
