SOVIET GIVING HELP THREE AEROPLANES OUT FAMOUS PILOT IN CHARGE By Telegraph— Tress Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.45 p.m. Moscow, Dee. 25 The Soviet Government has responded promptly to messages from the American Government, appealing to the Soviet for assistance for Lieut. Bon Eielson, the Arctic airman, who has been lost for six weeks off the coast of Siberia.
The' Soviet Government .tai' despatched. an aeroplane to search for Eidson and his companion Borland off the Siberian coasts and has also ordered two other Soviet planes to aid in the work. It is believed the ice in the vicinity will be too strong to permit ef icebreakers being used in the rescue. ’ • The mission will be commanded by Shestakev, who has been here since his flight to Moscow from New York. He will use a plane similar to ihe one in which he made the bang flight.
