Graham, has made a statement that the committee stage of the Coal Mines Bill would be undertaken as-early as possible after the recess. A clause would be inserted appointing commissioners to frame schemes of amalgamation. The Government adhered to the belief that the statements regarding a large increase in coal prices were unfounded. Nevertheless, it would establish ® consumers’ council, ’ covering the' main necessities of life, namely, food and fuel, under which it would take effective steps to protect the general public.
