OKOKE SILVER WEDDING

MR. AND MRS. LORD ENTERTAINED

A surprise party recently took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Lord, Okoke, the occasion being the 25th anniversary of their marriage. A pleasant evening was spent with music, song and cards, after which all adjourned to the dining room, where the wedding supper was served. The bride was presented with a beautiful bouquet of choice white flowers by Mrs. Rogers, while the wedding cake was the gift of Mrs. O’Riordan. In proposing the health of the bride and bridegroom Mr. O’Riordan referred to the sterling qualities of Mr. and Mrs. Lord, and the esteem in which they were held by all, and on behalf of those present he wished them many years of health, happiness and prosperity. Mrs. Lord responded to the toast. Three hearty cheers were given for Mr. and Mrs. Lord and family, and all joined in singing “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.”
