TOWN BOARD’S MEETING. fihe monthly meeting of the Normanby Town Board was held on Tuesday night, those present being: Commissioners C. J. Preston (chairman), T. Lloyd, P. Leydon and A. Hills. The railways district engineer wrote stating that the portion of the Keteinarae Road at the back of the goods shed was on railway land. It was a public highway, being entirely used by the public, and he considered that the board should accept dedication of the part of the road which was on railway property. Should the board agree to this, he would recommend to the head office that tho road be handed over free of cost. Tho board agreed to take over the road provided the department first put it in order. Iho clerk was appointed to represent the board at the next meeting of the Taranaki Local 'Bodies’ Association. A complaint was received from a resident that tho owner of the land on each side of her property was allowing boxthorn hedges to encroach on the footpath. The clerk was instructed to give notice to tho owner and three other residents, whoso fences were encroaching on tho footpaths, to have them trimmed immediately. Tho board has been authorised by tho Main Highways Board to spend tho sum of £3BD 5s on the Wellington-Auck-land via Taranaki main highway, and £57 on tho Mawhitiwfoiti Road. These amounts will carry a £2 for £1 subsidy. Tho chairman is to arrange for a supply of metal for Ketcmarae Road. It was decided to hold a general clean lip day on Monday, December 2. Tho clerk reported that 22 cows were registered. It was resolved that all unregistered cows bo impounded, also any registered ones found on the roads on show or race days.
