RAILWAY STATION THEFT

EXPLOSIVES WRECK SAFE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Waipukurau, Nov. 22. Late last night or early this morning the railway station was burglariously entered by means of the forcing of a

window from a platform. There was no doubt that an expert had been at work, as explosives were used with success in forcing open a large safe, the inner casing being blown into a tangled mass. A luggage sack was used to deaden the sound. The fuse was applied to the keyhole of the safe. Two cash-boxes, containing cheques and notes to a substantial amount, also £4 in silver and pennies, are missing.
