SWIMMING IN SCHOOLS

i TEACHING OF RECORD NUMBER. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 22. The creation of another New Zealand record in the number of children taught to swim was announced in the report on swimming in schools presented to the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. During last season 15,836 certificates were issued to school children for proficiency, in swimming. The Davies Shield for the school gaining the highest percentage of certificates was won by Te Werenga School (Auckland).
