WIDESPREAD PLOT IN MINES

The Minister of Justice, Mr. Pirow, in a speech on the subject of the'Durban police raids on natives, revealed a widespread plot instigated by the Third International, calculated to strike a serious blow at the industrial life "of the Union. . The Third International sent. /written instructions to’ a number of ■ native labour organisations to • “wage a struggle against , the Native Bills and all other forms of oppression, not* through petitions hut through revolutionary methods, On December- 16 militant demonstrations were to be conducted and the mines to be penetrated by . all possible means.” ,
Therefore Mr. Pirow claimed justification for the Government’s action at Durban, which was the chief centre of unrest. He added that the Government would'at the earliest possible date legislate to deal with the agitator who was a»t the, root : of the trouble.
