One of the heaviest, if not the heaviest calendar ever presented to a judge at a quarterly session of th© Supreme Court in Taranaki will be presented to Mr. Justice McGregor when the next session opens in New Plymouth on Tuesday morning. It is expected the session will extend over at least a month. No less than 15 criminal cases for trial are already listed, included amongst them being a number of a serious nature. Four prisoners who, have pleaded guilty in the lower court will come before the judge for sentence, all of them on charges relative to breaking, entering and theft.

.Six' civil cases are scheduled to be. heard before the judge alone, and one before the judge and a jury of 12. Included in the civil cases is a claim by the executor of the estate of the late John Poletti against Louis Albert Saxten for £2500 damages. . The case is the result of negligent driving on the part of the latter that resulted in the death of Poletti at Bell Block. A similar claim for £2500, arising out of a fatal motor accident, is that of Neighbour v. Frost. A case of a rather unusual nature is a summons for contempt of Court, in which Grey and Grey, a firm of solicitors, are concerned.
