LORD IRWIN EXERTS INFLUENCE. (British Official Wireless). Rugby, Oct. 10. Lord Irwin, Governor-General of India, who has just concluded three months’ leave in England, left London this morning accompanied by Lady Irwin for Marseilles and India. Lord Irwin has spent a considerable portion of his leave in London and has been in frequent consultation with the Secretary for India and other members of tho Government. During the early part of his sojourn he lent his counsel to the Indian Central Committee and the Times says that with good effect he urged both sides to show mutual regard and forbearance. It is added that although there is no intention of interfering with the work of the Simon constitutional reform commission by any prejudgment of the great issues on which it is to pronounce in a report which is expected in February. This will not preclude L'v! Irwin from throwing light on reform problems in speeches he may make after resuming charge in India,
