REBEL KING TAKES FLIGHT

FALL OF AFGHAN CAPITAL MOST OF OFFICERS CAPTURED FEELING FAVOURS EX-KING By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Australian Press Association. Received Oct. 11, 7 p.m. Delhi, Oct. 11. Baccha Isakau, the rebel King of Afghanistan, has fled to the Russian frontier and the majority of his officers have been taken prisoner in the dramatic capture of Kabul city by General Shah Wali Khan. The Treasury was cleared of its wealth by Baccha before his flight. There is evidence in Afghanistan and the frontier towards a stronger feeling in favour of- the return of ex-King Amanullah. Prince Hayatullah Khan and Prince Abdul Majidjan, Amanullah’s brothers, who were reported to have been executed by Baccha, were found alive in Kabul.

King Amanullah, who is at Rome, declares that he is willing to become Afghan Minister in Italy for Nadir Khan if the latter becomes- King. He said Nadir was always faithful, but he was not aware whether he had conquered Kabul for himself or the ex-King. ' • “Anyhow,” he said, “I am delighted that Nadir has defeated Habibullah, who is not worthy to rule my people. 1 have no personal ambition. My first care is the welfare of Afghanistan.”
