Kabul was captured by General Shah Wali Khan, brother of General Nadir Khan, who entered the capital with a ctrong force of Waziris after defeating the'" forces of the rebel King Habibullah in a series of heavy engagements. The whereabouts of Habibullah is unknown. King Amanullah, who is at Rome, declares that he ie willing to become Afghan Minister in Italy for Nadir Khan if the latter becomes. King. He said Nadir was always faithful, but he was not aware whether he had conquered Kabul for . himself or the ex-King. “Anyhow,” he. said, “I am delighted that Nadir has defeated Habibullah, who is not worthy to rule my people. I have no personal ambition. My first care is the welfare of Afghanistan.”
