OVERCROWDED CONDITIONS APPEAL MADE FOR URGENT GRANT. CENTRAL AND FITZROY ADDITIONS. (By Wire —Parliamentary Reporter.) .Wellington, Last Night. In the House of Representatives to-night Mr. S. G. Smith gave notice to ask the Minister of Education whether, in view of the fact that owing to the overcrowded condition of the Central School, New Plymouth, the corridors in the infant depart-, ment having to be used as. class rooms and many intending infant pupils are refused admission on account of lack of accommodation, will he bring before Cabinet at the earliest ' possible moment the application of the Taranaki Education Board for, a grant to-cover the cost of the necessary additional accommodation. . Mr. Smith also gave notice to ask the Minister of Education . whether, with • the view of placing the matter before an early meeting of Cabinet, he will have urgent inquiries made into the application of the Taranaki Education Board for a grant to-,‘ wards providing the necessary accommodation at the’Fitzroy -School, where, on account of the rapid development of that suburb, at least-two additional class rooms are needed. ■ , .
