Mr. Neilson has also been in communication with the Minister of Defence and Mr. S. G. Smith M.P., trying to arrange for a member of New Zealand Air Force to be present with or without a defence machine. The committee has decided to allow ears into the grounds free of charge. The borough council has made arrangements with the taxis and buses whereby a through return ticket from any part of New. Plymouth connected with the tram service to the aerodrome can ■be obtained for 2s Gd from any of the tram conductors. Children under ten years of age will be charged Is ,6d only. It has been decided that passengers will be carried by the various pilots on Saturday afternoon at the usual joyriding rates, but it is not yet known whether passengers will be carried for hire on Sunday, in view of the recent police prosecution in Hawera. The public are particularly warned to leave sufficient space at the runway for the various machines to land. In addition, people are requested to keep clear of the propellers, not to touch the machines or climb on them as their construction is delicate, and not intended for such treatment, and not to scrawl their names on any part of the fabric
