The centre of the tropical hurricane has passed, states a message from Pensacola, leaving communications disrupted. The lighting system has failed. Approximately 100 refugees are under the care of the police. The weather bureau stated to-day that districts east of the city would be most damaged, but no reports from them are available. The terrific winds caused damage amounting to approximately 1,000',000 dollars throughout Florida. Miami reports .having received a wireless message from Nassau to-day that there are only six hurricane deaths, instead of 20 as previously reported. The property damage is also less at first than estimated, though it is severe in isolated cases.
