FIRE IN WELLINGTON CITY
CONCRETE BUILDING DAMAGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A fire broke out in a three-storied concrete building, No. 22 Vivian Street, owned by Mr. T. A. Welle and insured in the State Fire Insurance Office for £3OOO. The fire had broken out on the second floor, in premises occupied by Messrs. A. J. Wiggs and Son. The office, showrooms and their contents were damaged by fire and water. This firm’s stock was ’insured for £250. Damage was done by smoke and heat to the office and showrooms of Mohegan (N.Z.), Limited, which is also on the second floor. The stock of this firm is not insured. Another firm on the same floor had its showrooms damaged, the stock being insured for £350. On the first floor the club rooms of the Hellenic Association suffered damage by water. Their contents were insured for £350.
