IMPRISONMENT FOR THEFT
NINE MONTHS V. HARD LABOUR

A sentence of nine months’ imprison* inent with hard labour was imposed by Mr. Justice Ostler upon Harold Thomas Watson, aged 34 years, in the Supreme Court to-day. The charges' were the theft of batteries, the property of the Electric Construction Company, and the making of a false entry by means of a duplicate docket. The jury’s verdict was guilty, with a recommendation to mercy.
