TUB ANNUAL CONFERENCE.

Greymouth, Last Night. The Dominion Licensed Victuallers 1 Association conference was held to-day. The chairman, Air. F. McParland, in his opening address, said this was the first time the conference had been outside Wellington and it was due to the persistence of the- West Coast delegates in urging that the meeting place should be in their district.
Delegates present were Messrs. R. Nash, J. J. Wallace (Canterbury), P. G. Griffen, T. Coltman, C. Boyle, L. Smith, • M. O’Reilly, L. Flighthome (Wellington), W. Brodie, J. E. Griffen (Auckland), T. Moynihan, W. Kirkland (Manawatu), F. Parker (South Canterbury), E. Manly (Wanganui), F. S winbell, J. Donne. (Palmerston North), M. Roach, M. O’Brien (Southland), W. Horrocks (Nelson), F. Smith (Rangitikei), F. Keating, .. R. Methven, C. E. Samuels (Westport), A. Beban, J. McLeod (Greymouth), Chettle (Reeftonj, N. L. Field, W. Keller (Hokitika), C. Chamley (Cobden), C. McKechnie, J. Steele (Greymouth). and Mr. P. J. Coyle, chief executive officer (Wellington). The election of officers resulted as v? follows: —President, Mr, J.. McFarland; vice-presidents, Messrs. P. J. Griffen (Wellington) and P. Brody (Auckland); executive, Messrs. J. C. Griffen (Auckland), T-, Coltman (Wellington), B. Aislabie (Gisborne), A. Beban (West Coast), F. W. Swidel (Palmerston North), P. Finlayson (Taranaki), A. Fitzgibbon (Nelson), T. Heath (Hawkes Bay), F. Carter (South Canterbury), R. / Nash (Canterbury), M. O’Brien (Southland) and J. Young (Otago). The conference went into committee to deal with business. At the conclusion a motion was passed conveying appreciation of the hospitality of the Greymouth branch to the delegates. It was decided that the next annual conference take place at Palmeiston North.
