TRISTRAM CUP GOLF
FIRST ROUND PLAYED AT ELTHAM
Ideal weather conditions favoured the playing of the first round of the Tristram Cup by the Eltham Golf Club during the week-end, and considerable interest is being taken in the piatch as a result of the even scoring. The results were:—
The draw for the second round, to be played next week-end, is: W. 0. Hill V. J.. Quin; R. Darling v. N. Phillips; E. E. Carter v. F. Fallows; A. Chrystal v. F. Clemow; S. L. Reeves v. 0. Casey; H. Casey v. Dr. Crawford; C. Stunners v. R. Ritter; L. Quin v. P. De Launay; A. Tiplady v. W. Kerr; H. Gibson v. W. Arthur.
On Saturday a medal round played by the Ladies’ Club for non-handicap players was won by Mrs. M. McGarry. Miss L. Ritter annexed the L.G.U. medal vound. .
HAWERA LADIES’ GOLF.
MATCHES BY HAWERA CLUB. When a team from the Hawera Ladies’ Golf Club visited Eltham to play a match on the Fairfield links, the Eltham ladies proved victorious by six games to three. The results, with Eltham players mentioned first, are as follow: — Miss A. Wilson lost to Miss Robertson'; Miss 11. Wilson defeated Miss G. Death; Mrs. De Launay lost to Miss Knight; Miss Wanklyn lost to Mrs. Whitehead; Mrs. J. Quin lost to Mrs. W. S. Gibson; Miss Pease defeated Mrs. Ritchie; Miss Meyrick and Miss Casey all square; Mrs. Whiting defeated Mrs. Hunt; Miss Stewart lost; to Mrs. Davy; Mrs. Abbott lost to Mrs. Corey. The draw for the September L.G.U. monthly medal match to be played for to-morrow is: Mrs. Thomson v. Mrs. Little; Mrs. Walkley v. Miss Burgess; Miss Hawked v. Miss Knight; Miss Richardson v.
