Mr. V. J. Cornaga, of Melbourne, is on a visit to New Plymouth.
Formerly vicar at Frankton and Bulls, the Rev. H. E. Jones has been appointed by the Presbyterian Church as home missionary at .Port Ahuriri, Napier.
Mr. G. Fearer, of Opunake, who was admitted to the New Plymouth public hospital last week, is to undergo a serious operation to-morrow. Sir Hubert Wilkins was married to Miss Suzanne Bennett at Cleveland on Friday, states a cable. It was a simple ceremony and was conducted by a justice of the peace.
His Majesty the King has approved the appointment of the Hon. Patrick William Maule Ramsay, counsellor in the diplomatic service, to be EnvoyExtraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at Athens, states an official wireless message.
Mr. Rudolph Hynes, at present Inad of the engineering department of the Wanganui Technical College, has seen appointed by the Board of Governors to a similar position at the King Edward Technical Colley Dunedin. Mr. Hynes was with the Government for eight years before going to England for . two years to study at the London University, where he graduated B.'Sc., in engineering. There were 13 applicants for the position,
