AUCKLAND WIN FINAL GAME. By Telegrau'.i —Press Association. Christchurch, Aug. 31. The New Zealand ladies’ basketball tourney was concluded to-day in fine weather. In the semi-finals Auckland 23 beat Southland 10, and Wellington 12 beat Otago 6. In the final Auckland 14 beat Wellington 13. At half-time Wellington led by 10 goals to 2. In the inter-island match North Island beat South Island by 14 goals to 3. After the match the Mayor, the Rev. J. K. Archer, presented the championship cup to Miss Mueller, captain of the Auckland team.
