MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING.
HAWERA CLUB’S COMPETITIONS.
Members of the Hawera Miniature Rifle Club are making good progress with various competitions and will soon begin teams’ matches. The second round of the president’s trophy competition will close on Tuesday, July 23. The scores registered so iar are: L. Uttinger 97, K. Allan 95, G. Davidson 82, L. Harding 89, C. Dingle 88, J. Vinten 95, E. Booth 92, Mrs. F. Rae 91, Miss J. Rae 92. The scores at the end of the second round of the junior trophy competition are: J. Clapham (handicap 3) 49, F. Rourke (3) 49, J. Tapp (3) 48, A. Booth (6j) 475, E. Spavin (2J) 474, G. Gibson (4£) 401, A. Thrush (3J) 44J. The final round will close on Tuesday, the competitors who still have to fire beino- J. Tapp, E. Spavin, G. Qibson. and D. Buist. The first round for Messrs. Shaw and Son’s trophy will close to-night, and the second round on July 23. Mr. Elgar’s challenge cup is open for competition, three rounds of ten shots and one sighter to be fired, and the best round will count for the club championship. The club is also arranging contests for the following trophies- Mrs. F. Rae’s, Mr. H. N. Lester’s, Mr. W. McMaster’s, Messrs. G. Syme and Co.’s, Mr. R. Allan’s, Mr. A. Elgar’s ladies’ trophy and Dr. W. F. Buist’s junior championship trophy.
