They admired the’climate and the scenery, appreciated all the, wonderful things in "New Zealand. As stranger® they found great beauty in the country which perhaps residents failed to' see because of their familiarity.

Every day of their life in the country was filled with the interests of the country and people, and Sir Charles felit it would take a life-time instead of flv<* years to appreciate everything. He took great interest in the chihlceil because they were all concerned in tho future. It was always their pleasure to visit children, and to encourage theiff training. They never met such children us they did in New Zealand; they worn so natural, so simply confident, sb wellmannered that one could make friends with them at once. ‘ On this the teachers and educational authorities should be complimented. • Sir Charles and Lady Alice would leave New Zealand with regret and only because of duties at home which called them Insistently. .'
