The action of the Railway. Department in stopping the mail train on Saturday* morning at the Hawera racecou ’se, plat* form shows a desire on the part of the department to cater for the public. About 70 passengers took advantage of the opportunity to leave the train at that point. The names of the following carriers who kindly assisted with the erection of the aeroplane hangar on the New Plymouth Aero Club’s aerodrome was by an oversight omitted in the preparation of the annual report published in the News last Saturday: Messrs. Hooker Bros., Ltd., the N.Z. Express Co., Ltd., Messrs. Kibby and Galla-' gher, A. Williamson, Edgar Lobb and W. Capon. The "full-house” sign was in evidence at the weekly dance at the Workers Social Hall on Saturday evening. During the enjoyable programme provided the Grand Dance Orchestra was called upon to respond to many encores. The entertainment was made the more enjoyable by the inclusion of a number of novelty dances, the prize-winners being Miss G. Reed and Mr. Hananai (card dance), Mass G. Reed and Mr. L. Reed (balloon dance), Mrs. Lote and Mr. Hill (Monte Carlo), Miss Joyce Williams and Mr. J. Gable (balloon dance). Miss Rosewarne and Mr. Murphy (spot dance), Mrs. Hooper and Mr. Hooper (spot dance).
