THE GENERAL ELECTION

NEW PLYMOUTH ELECTORATE. There was a good attendance of Mr. S. G. Smith’s supporters in the Omata district on Thursday night. Mr. Smith addressed the meeting, after which a branch of the United Political Party was formed and a strong and enthusiastic committee was set up to assist him in his candidature. Mr. S. G. Smith held a meeting of his supporters in the Vogel town School last night and a branch of the United Political Party was formed. Although weather conditions were unfavourable a good number turned up to hear his address and were enrolled and a strong ccmmittee appointed to further the interests of the candidate during the eomipg election campaign.
