EXTRA DOCTOiI FOR THE SCHOOLS. CO-OPERATION „ WITH RED CROSS, In order to cope with the work to b© undertaken in Taranaki, th© staff of tha district health office in New Plymouth is being supplemented. Dr. Helen Dougall, school medical officer, will stay two months to assist Dr. R. J. R. Mecrcdy, district medical officer, in th© examination of school children. She will visit schools in the Oliura district. Dr. Mccredy said last night that though they would not bo able to conduct examinations at all th© schoolsin th© district this year, they hoped to cover all the grades from two-teach-er upwards. Miss Wise, school nurse and inspector, will arrive' in New Plymouth next week and will be stationed there to assist in the inspection of hospitals and in other phases of departmental work. Next month the scheme of co-opera« tion between the Red Cross Society and the Health Department will commence to operate. Miss Ingles, a departmental nurse, will spend half her time in school work and half in carrying tout tha duties of a Red Gross nurse.
