LOS ANGELES WOMAN KILLED

UNUSUAL FEATURES AT TRIAL.

By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Australian Press Association. Los Angeles, Aug. 30. Two grotesque life-sized reproductions of the body of Myrtle' Melius, whom tho police believed was murdered by her butcher boy friend, Leo Kelly,- were displayed in the Court where Kelly is now on trial for murder. The Court room was filled with women. Frank Melius testified that he never knew of his wife’s clandestine affairs with the family butcher. The district attorney submitted that three love letters from Kelly to Mrs. Melius indicated that the latter’s love was growing cold. The police theory is that this provided the motive for the killing.
