ASSAULT CASES AT DUNEDIN. By Tvlegna^’h.—Press Assoc.ia.ti'Oin. Dunedin, Last Night. Having been found guilty on a of carnal knowledge of a girl ten years of age, John Henry Appleby was to-day sentenced by Mr. Justice Ostler to four years’ imprisonment with hard labour. For assault at Tokoiti, John McGillivry was admitted to probation for one year. John William Ashworth Chadwick, for assaulting a male, received a sentence of two years’ hard labour. Charged with the theft of rabbit skins, Albert Graham was found not guilty.
