PIGEON RACING
EGMONT CLUB ACTIVITIES. The Egmoni Homing Club concluded its young bird programme last Saturday with two races front Palmerston North, a distance of 125 miles air line. The first was a team race, six lofts competing. The birds were kindly liberated by the stationmaster, who reported a northerly wind at tho race point. Mr. A. Raby’s team, tho winners, did the distance in 3hr 37min. The second race was an interval race, five lofts competing. This also was won by Mr. A. Raby, making his third consecutive win from Palmerston North, a very good performance. The birds in Ihis race were kindly liberated by Mr. E. Jackson at half-hour intervals. A trophy is attached to each of these races, The results are: TEAM RACE A. Raby’s team, time 31ir Simin, velocity 1013.5yds per min I B. Sole’s team, 3hrs 39min 32sec, 1002.12yds per min 2 U.
