ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE

REMAND IN MILTON CASE. MAN STABBED WITH KNIFE. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Charged with attempted murder, William Hassett was arrested at his home at South Milton yesterday afternoon by Constable MeQuitty. He was charged at a sitting of the Police Court at Milton this morning -with the attempted murder of Albert Lloyd, a young man who now lies in the Milton hospital with a severe wound in his abdomen. Hassett was formally remanded to appear before Mr. J. Dixon, S.M., next Monday. The injured man’s condition is unchanged. The wound, which was inflicted by a pocket knife, is of a serious nature but is not considered dangerous. Hassett made no attempt to leave Milton after the alleged affray outside Mr. P. Curran’s residence in Union Street on Sunday night. He was walking about the town yesterday and was at his homo when arrested.
