WOMAN STARTLED IN BED
MAORI FOUND IN HOUSE.

Gisborne, Last Night. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day a Maori named George Ngarimu, 19 years of age, was charged with being found by night in a private house in Matawai with intent to commit a crime.
The evidence showed that a married Woman, a complete stranger to the accused, was awakened in her bed at night by the accused, who was interfering with the bedclothes. She called for assistance and the accused escaped. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
