EARL JELLIOOE SUGGESTED. By Telegraph—Tress Assn. —Copyright. A. and N.Z. London, Feb. 8. The Daily Express editorially expresses the hope that Lord Jellicoe will show wisdom to decline the offer of the British Legion to become its president! the legion consisting almost wholly of ex-army men.
“Furthermore, the legion above all should stand apart from the sphere of the controversy on Lord JeUicoe’s war record,” continues the article, "which, rightly or wrongly, has been the subject of a fiercer controversy than has ever centred around a British admiral. The legion particularly needs a man of such a personality that appeals to and can move a great, mass of fellow countrymen.
