SWIMMING FOR SCHOOLS

SCHEDULE OF PERIODS. To make arrangements for the schools in New Plymouth to use the municipal baths the headmasters last night met Cr. P. E. Stainton and Mr. R. Day, representing the Borough Council. The following schedule was agreed on for periods from Monday to Friday:— Central, daily, 8 to 8.45 a.m.; West End, daily 12.15 to 1 and Monday 3.15 to 4.15; Moturoa, Monday 3.15 to 4.15; Fitzroy, Tuesday 3.15 to 4.15; Westown, Wednesday 12.15 to 1 and 3.15 to 4.15; Omata, Wednesday 3.15 to 4.15; Boys’ High School, Thursday aternoon; Girls’ High School, Friday afternoon. A period for the Convent School is to be arranged. Cr. Stainton said the custodian had been instructed to assist the teachens in training the children to swim.
