In the first few rounds the New Zealander scored well with heavy body punches. Although against the spectators’ opinion, which greatly favoured the New Zeaalnder, the referee awarded a draw. The decision was badly received, the majority of the spectators favouring the New Zealander. HYDE OUTPOINTS ELMOUR. Received Oct. 16, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 16. At the Stadium, Jim Hyde (11.4) outpointed Dick Elmour (11.0) in a fifteen rounds’ contest. Hyde had the better of matters almost throughout. Elmour did well in the first five rovuids, but spoilt his efforts by repeatedly hitting with the open glove and failing to follow up hie attacks. From the seventh round Hyde scored well with straight lefts, am! in the last round almost outed Elmour with a heavy right to the chin. He finished with a comfortable margin- 0/ points in his favour.
