OXFORD UNIVERSITY MATCH ENGLISH TEAM MAKES 337 RUNS, TOURISTS REACH 84 FOR ONE. Bi' Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 5, 5.5 p.m. London, June 4. For the match against Oxford University, Lowry and Blunt rejoined the New Zealand side. Oxford made 337 and New Zealand had reached 84 for the loss of one wicket when stumps were drawn. Oxford opened and Crawley scored quickly until he was run out, but Holmes obtained real mastery over the New Zealand attack. The first 50 came in the same number of minutes, after which Holmes continued batting with complete confidence, making 100 in 130 minutes. He then hit brilliantly, including one sixer. Altogether he batted three hours and hit 27 fours. He gave only one chance when at 91. New Zealand batted attractively, Blunt and Dempster making 70 for the first wicket.
