Rogers. * * * * , Miss Kelly, who has been staying with Mrs. R. H. Cover, has returned to Auckland. **• . . • The official opening of the Golf Club was held last Thursday. There was a large attendance of members, with several visitors from Hawera and Stratford. The mixed foursome, which attracted a large entry, was wort by Mrs. L. J. Weir and Mr. J. H. Morton. On Thursday afternoon, Mis. and Miss Connell gave a kitchen tea for Miss Lucy Quin. Among those present were: Mesdames Morris (Opunake), O'Reilly (Days Bay), Wilson, Syme, Weir, McGregor, Crump, Stewart, .McDonald, Morton, Best, Fitzgerald and the Misses A. Wilson, H. Wilson and Belcher. The honorary members of the Croquet Club held an afternoon last Friday.. Mrs. Tait (Kaponga) won the members’ trophy, and Mrs. D. H. Saunders the honorary members’ trophy. Among those present were: Lady Carncross, Mesdames Tait (Kaponga), Syme, McGarry, Carman, McGregor, Mackay, Gover, Isaacson, Bridger, Goldsmith, McCready, Thomson, Weir, Fountaine, Drayton, Saunders,' ‘O’Hagan, Carter, White, Stauners. Bary, Bodie, Astbury, Hui-rell and the Misses McDonald, Kelly, Neil and Clatworthy.. .
