Ballantine, captain of No. 2 Company, explaining that Miss Brant had been the first lieutenant to fully qualify in Hawera. A bouquet was presented to Miss Brant by Patrol Leader Alma Conway, and, on • behalf of the Guides,- Mrs. F. C. King, captain of No. 1 Company, gave Miss Brant a silver pencil.
