AUSTRALIAN BORROWING
LONDON APPREHENSIVE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 6, 9.50 p.m. London, April 6. The Financial News, reviewing the Australian loan maturities in 1927, discusses exhaustively the question of New York borrowing. The paper mentions fears in London financial circles that this will, in some way, assist American trade with Australia at the expense of British trade. The writer recommends that every effort should be made to retain the business here, but admits that as, Australia must be a heavy borrower, careful management will b e necessary if her wants are to be satisfied at low cost.
