The income tax figures for 1925 which have been published show that 207 individuals in the United States are of the millionaire income class, which is the largest in the history of the country, the 1924 figures showing only 75 and the figures for 1926 showing 206, and for 1921 only 21, the lowest since the war. The total income taxes collected for the first nine months of the present fiscal year amounted approximately to 1,650,000,000 dollars and the estimated total for the entire year is 34,260,000,000. Altogether, 207 millionaires with a reported total income of 422,000,000 dollars, paid income taxes amounting to 66,000,000 dollars. The largest income group is that of between. 4000 and 5000 dollars, these totalling 18,270,000,000, on which 5,000,000 of income tax was paid.
