FIRST SHAMMED DISTRESS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, Jan. 31. A Flock House trainee, William Thomas Cox, a recent arrival from England, was accidentally drowned while bathing yesterday in a forbidden part of the Rangitikei River. Shortly before the tragedy he called for help, but was only shamming. A little later real cries of distress were heard, but no sign of Cox jvas seen, and his body was not .recovered until late last night. He was an orphan and had no brothers or sisters.
